Even though it is April and seems months away from August we are already gearing
up for our 13th Annual Outdoor Quilt Show & Folk Art Sale, August 28th &
29th with
classes beginning Tuesday, August 24th 28th. We are ready to fill your week with a
wonderful slate of teachers making their way towards the barn, capping the week
with our outdoor quilt show and folk art sale on Saturday and Sunday. 2009 teachers
include, Jo Morton, Kim Diehl, Lynda Hall of Primitives by Lynda, Barri of Bareroots
and sister Cheri of Wednesdays Best and Maggie
Bonanomi, a Buggy Barn staple.
In
appreciation of all those customers who have become
friends, each fall - during the last weekend in
August - we hold an outdoor quilt show at the Barn.
Quilts are hung from buildings, clotheslines and draped
over the fences. As
visitors arrive on our lane, they can see
the quilts in the distance hanging on the
big barn. As
they get closer, they encounter scores of
quilts draped over the fences. Cars line the roads as quilt lovers scramble out of the
cars and head down the quilt-lined driveway. Once
you arrive on the property, there are quilts
everywhere you turn. On
the Buggy Barn . . . Not
just one side by the way. On the Big Barn
The really big quilts can be displayed on the big
barn and Outside the
Barn with the Star... We take advantage of every fence around and add many additional
"clotheslines" throughout the property and everywhere else.
We invite all of you to share your quilts with us at the quilt show. Because everyone enjoys
reading about your quilt story, we are asking for your help with the labels. Please write your name, along with any pertinent quilt information, on a piece of muslin with a permanent marker and baste it to the lower right corner of your quilt you don t even have to turn the edges under! Pam & I certainly appreciate the help and everyone will enjoy learning about your quilt. Drop your quilts off anytime the week prior to the show!
